Edgewood Lights

The Portwood Family Christmas Display

I found this video the other day called Jungle Bell Rock Anthem by Brian Havig

Being that I and many others on the Do It Yourself Christmas website liked it and are thinking about making a Christmas light sequence to it I emailed him to find out where I could get the MP3 and permission to use it.  Email addresses have been changed to protect from spammer…  Figure it couldn’t hurt to ask nicely and drum roll he responded!

I was wondering if you have an MP3 available of the Jingle Bell Rock Anthem?  Either for sale or use with your permission…
Myself and a few people are interested in using the song in our animated Christmas light displays, hopefully for this year.  For the displays we sequence the lights to the music and play the songs over low power FM stations for those driving by.
Thank you,

Hi Jason,
I’m happy to help you and glad you like the song. I’ve sent you the mp3. Feel free to use and share with anyone who is interested, just give me credit when reasonable to do so (Brian Havig Comedy, and/or link to my FB page or www.brianhavigcomedy.com).
If you post a youtube video of your light show, I’d love to see it. Send me a link so I can see how it turned out and share it with my following. That’s all the payment I need 🙂 Enjoy.
– Brian
So without further ado here is the MP3 – thanks Brian!  I may not get it done this year, but I’m sure others will!!!

Happy 4th of July

So no display this year for the 4th but I am planning on it eventually.  Maybe next year maybe not but it will happen.  The house is gussied up for the 4th.  Those half circle flags along the front and flags in the yard.  The concrete goose will get dressed up later today.

The family went to the 4th of July parade in Edgewood today.  Pictures of the parade are in the gallery.

The parade was great and we had a lot of fun.  The kids picked up lots of candy and had a great time.  I’m working on a contact form for the site so if you happen to find a picture in the gallery you like you can contact us for a better sized version.  I hope to get that up in a week or two if not sooner.

Happy 4th of July!

The Launch Post

After a lot of thought and planning I have launched this website to show off my Christmas light display on the web.  The name Edgewood Lights was chosen since the display is located in Edgewood, Kentucky (In Northern Kentucky).  My desire is to add a photo gallery of not only my lights, which will of course be the focus of this site, but the other displays in the city of Edgewood as well.  Of course that will take some time and more planning so for now “It’s all about my stuff”.

So hang on over the next couple months things will be taking shape.  Please check back at least mid November, the display will be going up around Veterans day if not sooner.
